Outdial support on Unity

Is outdial supported on the Unity system ?
It seems that outbound call originated from the Unity is only available for notification. What I am looking for is a way for a user to dial his Voice-Mail box and when he has access it, can dial outside the Unity system.

Re: Outdial support on Unity

You are correct, outdial is support for notification. Unity will not allow a user to dial a number at will to get to the outside. However, you could set up a scheme in that if a caller dials the DN of a Call Handler you created, that Call Handler could transfer the caller to the outside. The number that the Call Handler would transfer the caller to would be fixed (as a Call Handler can be progammed to transfer to one extension).

Unity must recognize (by DTMF ID) any number that a caller dials while in the AA. Anything that is not a match, will not work.

This could also be done using Caller Input directed towards a Call Handler -- for instance, you could set up a Call Handler to transfer to a subscriber's cell phone, and then point one of the Caller Input digits in that subscriber's mailbox to the cell phone Call Handler. This could also be used to get around the DTMF ID requirement if you're worried about that, since the ID is optional on Call Handlers.
