Patch upgrade from Microsoft!!???

Normally, if you have windows xp or 2000 workstation or server, the computer will ask you do you want to download and install the NEW patch that available.

Like little planet icon at the bottom left on the screen that remind you have new patch.

Sometimes, Microsoft have critical patch for worm, red code, recently have patch for "Msasn1.dll" if the file is present.

Did you guys download and install on CallManager or Unity server???

I am afraid it will affect CCM or Unity if I install Patch file.

Re: Patch upgrade from Microsoft!!???

No, you can get all of your updates from CCO. Cisco is very touchy with this. At least they were with me!!

Re: Patch upgrade from Microsoft!!???

Everything I have read suggest the following:

Callmanager - NEVER use Micrsoft's site

- always use CISCO

Cisco - tests and recodes MS patches/hotfixes into their own (2000-2-5 & 2000-2-5sr6)

Unity has 3 - CD's for updates (Exchange, SQL, MS)

only these are outdated real fast (for install)

updates from MS site, using CRITICAL updates for hotfixes are supported.

Only watch for for Service Packs - check with Cisco first to see if the SP is supported for your version of Unity. For example: Unity 4 (possibly 3x too) now supports SP4 for W2K, but recommend to install Unity 4.x first then upgrade to SP4.
