Personal Assistant - G.729

Hello All,

It is my understanding that PA does not support G.729. I have a PA server sitting at my central sites, and all my remote sites are using G.729 to reach phones in my central site. However, all of the remote site regions are configured to use G.711 with the PA interceptor ports and the ports used to talk to CCM.

When a remote site tries to call a PA user while their region is using G.729 to the default site, it goes straight to Unity and asks them to enter their password. When I change it over to G.711, it works just fine.

My question is what else in PA is using G.711? Or is this something that just won't work at all?

Make sure that the recorded name of the user is not in G.729. This issue can be due to the spoken name sync between Cisco Unity and Cisco PA .
