Phantom Voice Mails

We have a user that when he dials in to get voice mail, either internally or from outside, it says that he has (2) new voice mails. However when you try to retreive it just goes to dead air. No buttons work for either save, delete etc..There are no voice mails in Outlook, they were deleted from there and the message light goes off when you do that. However those (2) voice mails still hang on when calling in. Any suggestion????<br><br><br>

are there any messages at all in the Outlook interface (not just voice messages)?

I suspect a couple of them in there are tagged with message classes that are tripping the Exchange inbox filters up. You didn't mention a version so I don't know for sure but there were a couple problems reported with handling special messages (i.e. such as failure receipts returned from a message left for a public folder via Outlook where the sender did not have permissions on that folder) that matched this description.

If you lookin in the outlook inbox, set it up to view the message classes and scan for any receipt types of any kind (NDRs, read recipets, delivery reaciepts etc...). Move them all to a temporary folder and call in again to see if it still offers you messages over the phone. If not, try moving them back to the inbox one at a time and try to isolate the ones causing us fits. If you can forward the message class(es) of the messages tripping us up, the engineering folks can run down the filter problem and fix it up (if it hasn't been fixed in a newer version already).
