Where does one start to learn to develop applications for the IP Phone?

I'm fairly new to this myself, but you will want to start here:

Here you can download all the API's and SDK documents. Between these documents and searching this board, I was able to get a small program up and running fairly quickly.

It seems you have to pay for this. Any way of developing them with out having to pay a yearly fee??

Getting the docs and sdk apps is free after registration.
Technical support is for a fee.
