phone configuration question

i don't use DHCP

i gived static ip to phone

i give an ip adress of linux server for tftp server parameter

i get the message CFG file not found

what must i do

You can't use a linux server for TFTP, the TFTP server must be call manager. When you create a phone in CM, it also creates a config file and puts it in the TFTP directory to be downloaded by the phone.

If you are trying to use a phone without call manager, that is a different story, please explain what you are trying to accomplish.

i 've tried to configure CME as tftp server and i branched the ip phone (7940) and i got tftp timeout

I have used Win2K and Win2k3 servers for TFTP, you just need to make sure you have the config file in the directory. The config file is referenced by MAC address. Not knowing Linux, but TFTP is a standard I can't see why it would not work.
