Phone Connected to FXS: Hold, Transfer, etc...

I have a phone connected to a FXS Port. Is there any way to Place calls on Hold, Transfer, etc? Tried using the flash button but the caller still remains on the line.

You should be able to do a hookflash to transfer the call. What version of IOS are you using? Are you using this gateway with the call manager? What is the gateway platform? If you are using this with a call manager is it h.323 or MGCP?
