Phone & DN De-Association, How-To

Hello,

Imagine I have Cisco SCCP IP Phone is associated with a some single DN in CUCM 6.x.

Please, advice, the way of how-to:

1. DeAssociate DN from this IP Phone thus moving it to Unassigned DNs category (we mustn't delete DN)

2. IP Phone configuration should remain in CUCM. I mean IP Phone has to remain without any DN (we mustn't delete Phone).

Hey Tobivan,

If this is the only appearance of the DN, you should be able to use the "Remove from Device" button on the DN config page for the specified phone. The system will spit out a warning about not have a DN, but will not cause any issues. This will automatically move the DN to the Unassigned DN List. Let me know if they are "Shared Lines" and I'll send you a link :)

We usually put a dummy DN on these phones that still have access to 911 just in case, it also makes it easy to search for them in the dB.
