Phone Loads in SRST Mode

Simple question:

I'm configuring SRST into CCM 4.1.3. I have the IOS config pretty much working. I'm just wondering if you need to have the phone loads (i.e. for a 7911, 7961, etc.) on the router so they can be downloaded during an outage?

Thanks,

Dave

Re: Phone Loads in SRST Mode

Hi Dave,

You do not need the Firmware files on the router :) The IP Phones retain their config from CCM during an outage.

Here is a little clip from an SRST doc;

When the SRS Telephony feature is enabled, Cisco IP phones do not need to be reconfigured while in Cisco CallManager fallback mode because phones retain the same configuration that was used with Cisco CallManager.

Hope this helps!

Rob
