Phone registration issues

I am having a problem with some 7910's that will not re-register when our powered switches restart. We have to manually go to them and unplug and re-plug them back in to get them to re-register. They are plugged in to model WS-C3524-PWR-XL-EN switch's. Has anyone else had this issue? It doesn't happen to all of them (the 7910's), but most of them. We have other model phone's on this switch and those come back up fine.

Probably they are coming up faster than your network is ready. The possible reason could be your SpanningTree protocol on your uplink port. By default the SpanningTree process takes about 50 seconds. If your phone receives power at the first second, and didn't receive the IP address and config, it may timeout. So, check this.

Another thing, how you could reboot the phone without a physical disconnect - if you go th the switch, go to the interface (port), shutdown, and then unshutdown the interface, it will cut-off inline-power and reboot the phone.

I think is is related to the Maximum Maount of Power the Cisco Switch can Supply at the Time of Reboot to the Attached Inline Power Devices. Someone has laready submitted this issue before and a one of the Guys replied that the Switch will not be able to supply all the Attached Inline Power Devices the Needed Power at the same time. ( This Explains why some of the 7910 Boots Automatically and the other dont. )
