Pickup Numbers w/ * or #

Anyone from Cisco have any thoughts on why your are unable to us * or # for Pickup numbers? It would make things much easier on the dialplan.

I don't know why you can't. We are using it in our CallManager Deployment with no problems.

We are using #4X #5X #6X and #7X.

We refer to them as Park Acces Codes.

Yes, you can use them for call park, just not call pickup numbers.

Re: Pickup Numbers w/ * or #

I know it works with Call park numbers, but have not tried with Pickup numbers.

Ah! Pickup!!!!

Sorry I miss read your post. When I read it my mind said Park. opps. I made a mistake.

This past week as I was going over our database and verifying numbers, partitions, CSS, etc. I discoverd that we are using "pickup" numbers in the same partition as DN's that we will be implementing this year. We have a whole entire prefix that we own. 402-XXXX.

I then tried to add DN with 1234 that was being used as a Pickup. It wouldn't let me of course.

So I decided to have 1 Access code such as #5. I haven't began to implement it yet and didn't know that it wouldn't work.

I will try this on Monday when I am back in the office.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

TIA

Well I can pretty much guaruntee you that it won't work. If you read CM Admin Guide it explicitly says (Integers) for Pickup Numbers. I just wanted to know why.
