Placing a Call through Unity

Can the following be done in UNity or Personal Assistant:

We currently have a system which allows employees to call in and then reroute calls out through our PBX. The reason we do this is that we have numerous international locations and we all use mobile phones this way we do not get charged $2.00 per minute using our mobile phones but instead local rates on mobile phones and negotiated lan line rates for internationla calls.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Currently Unity wont allow you to transfer to any number you like - you have to create call handlers to reach each number you want to allow users to dial so you'd have to set this up ahead of time.

Unity 4.0(4) will include two new conversations that can be mapped to user input keys on call handlers or subscribers - one is a "system transfer" and one is a "subscriber system transfer". The later is the one you'll want - it allows subscribers to dial any number they like that is permitted by their transfer restriction table. This will allow you to setup a handler that lets callers get to this conversation, they will identify themselves as a subscriber (i.e. provide their ID and PIN) and then let them enter any number to dial (they'll have to include any trunk access codes necessary to get out of your PBX, of course). Only if the number they enter is allowed by their transfer restriction table will it be dialed, otherwise they'll be told to try another number...

When is version 4.0(4) expected to be available?

The US English version should be available on CCO for download by the 2nd week of April if all goes as planned.
