Is the use of text pagers(message notification) supported with a plain old voicemail integration? For example, a message is left in a subscriber's voicemail box, unity will then send a email to the subscriber's text pager.<br><br>Thanks. <br><br>
yes... all forms of notification are supported regardless of if it's a voice mail only or a UM configuration. Of course you need to have an SMTP gateway setup to the outside world somewhere for the text page to get outside, but that doesn't have anything to do with your Unity configuration. We hand the email off to Exchange and it takes care of routing it out as appropriate. So long as you have things configured properly on that end, this will work.
As long as you have your SMTP gateway configured in Exchange you're fine. This can be done with the on box Exchnage on the Unity box if you want, but we always reccomend doing it on an external Exchange server if the customer has one configured since there's some amount of overhead invovled with being the gateway. If we're the only box in town, however, you don't have a lot of choice.
