Hi,
We need to install a Voice-over-IP system which allows us to do Pre-paid calling services. Please let us know what components should we have if we decide to go with the 3600 voice routers ? Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I am researching the same thing right now! I might be able to help you out. Please contact me.

The first thing is that the TCL IVR system is only supported on the 3620 and 3640 last time I checked. That means the highest port density you could theoretically get would be using the NM-HDV modules. I've been playing with this config in conjunction with a customer, so feel free to send any questions / more info and I'll help if I can.

Both Post-Paid and Prepaid and other Applications are available to be run on Cisco IOS Voice Gateways.
as5300,
as5350
as5400
c3620
c3640
c3660
These range in density from a couple of analog ports to around 8T1
The applications are implemented using Tcl IVR which is an open API for writing voice applciations on the IOS voice gateways and hence can be custoomized as needed.
Billing is done using the RADIUS interface to authorize and authenticate calls and to generate Call Data Records(CDRs)
Standard Pre-PAid and PostPaid billing software based on the RADIUS protocol is available from Billing partners.
Supports audio prompting and basic TTS in multiple languages.

I've been testing the Pre-/Post-paid calling card setup.
I have a 2621 router setup with a tftp server and I can dial-in to the router and hear the prompts. I now need to configure radius.
This is where I am lost. I cannot seem to find much documentation on how to setup the radius server. I am trying to use Cisco ACS 2.6.
Has anyone setup this service using ACS 2.x, who can shed some light on this and point me in the right direction?
thanks,

According to the doc at:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/so/neso/vvda/pctl/distrib/ppcex_qp.htm
CiscoSecure as a RADIUS server can do user authentication and post-paid call accounting, but it cannot do pre-paid calling as it does not have an interface to a call rating and accounting system.

Dave,
Thanks for the fast reply. Post-Paid is my main goal, basically we have customers using our centrex like Call Manager service who want calling cards. Post-paid is fine for this. ALthough having pre-paid might open up a new revenue source.
I'm trying to use Cisco Secure ACS 2.6 on NT, I'm still foggy on how I setup the information in radius to allow a user to connect and place a call.

Hi,
The Cisco TCL/IVR V2 guide should be enough to get someone going on a Prepaid Calling card Platform.
The following link discribes the RADIUS standards needed to be supported by the Auth and accounting Server.
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/so/neso/vvda/pctl/distrib/radus_ov.htm
The trick is the Real time call rating though. In the last year I have put togeather a radius server that supports both PostPaid and Prepaid services put togeather by using these two guides.
The software offered by other companies did not prove to be very cost effective.
My software package is based on MySql, and perl. And supports Reseller Interfaces for Both Calling cards and Postpaid dial. It has been in production since Last Feb. And has proven to be very stable.
Any how if there are enough interested parties, I wouldn't mind putting one togeather that is GPL'ed and dosn't support resellers.
If anyone is interested please drop me a line at dwolven@123.net.
