Problem with 3640 for VoIP

Hi all,

I have a big problem to risolve with a router 3640-A .

i have a voip designe where in the remote office i have a 2610 with 2 voice E&M and a wic-1T . the serial on this router go to the central office between a dedicate line ( 64 Kbps) wiith PPP.

In the central Office i have a 2610 that has a wic-1T to connect with remote office and a 2610 that has 2 voice port (E&M) for voip .

In this case the Voip work correct.

I've tried to change the 2610 (that has the voice ports) in the central office with a 3640-A but doesn't work correctly.

After a lot of test, i put a sniffer to see why with the 3640 doesn't work and I notice that the H225 work correct but when the release complete ...RTP packet are sending out only from the remote 2610 ...while 3640 doesn't send no rtp packet.

the configuration of 3640 are the same of 2610 in the first case.

I tried to change the 3640 with an other and i tried to change also IOS fram 12.2 to 12.1 and 12.0 but is the same.

what I have to do ?? Do I have to configured the 3640 different from a 2600 ?

thanx a lot.

if you need the configuration I'm very happy to send you.

Re: Problem with 3640 for VoIP

He had a similar problem and it was resolved using the "voice rtp send-recv" global configuration command. Try it.

Re: Problem with 3640 for VoIP

Can you post a "show version" command at the 3600?, do you have enough DRAM memory at your router?, have you tried another IOS version?

Re: Problem with 3640 for VoIP

What ip address is sent at the in the h225 call setup?, Is this address reachable from your router?

New Member

Re: Problem with 3640 for VoIP

yes is reachable..... infact the h225 call setup release is complete ..but the 3640 doesn't generate out RTP packet.. and the configuration is the samen that i put on 2610 ( and it works) ..

if you want i can send you the 2 configuration.

Re: Problem with 3640 for VoIP

Hum, it's a very strange problem.

Yes, you can send me the 2 config to the next mail address:
