Problem with intercluster trunk

I have two sites connected together via an intercluster trunk. Call Managers version is 3.1.4b on both sides. I have a Cisco 3725 as a gateway with a E1 Digital Multiline running software 12.2 on one of the site. The problem is when a call come in from site A to site B over the intercluster trunk and the user on site B wish to transfer the call to an outside line using the 3725 gateway the call drops off straightaway. Any ideas on how to go about finding out what the problem is? Note that this problem is specific to this situation only.

Re: Problem with intercluster trunk

Enable traces on Call Managers and debugs on the gateway to observe for any obvious clues.

You can also refer these good documents to troubleshoot this problem as well

Let me know if this fixes the issue

Re: Problem with intercluster trunk

I have read the two paper. I set up "debug voip ccapi inout" but I am not getting any output. This indicates that the call doesn't even reach the gateway. I set up a trace on call manager and the trace is as follow

Re: Problem with intercluster trunk

The call was from 73xxx to 89030

which had all calls diversion to 0411444457. I noticed that in the trace the dn=00411444457. Why is there an extra "0" being added?

Cheers

Anyone have any ideas on why Call Manager does not recognise this dn in this trace

Re: Problem with intercluster trunk

Make sure that G.711 is used on both sides and out to the PSTN. Otherwise a transcoder is needed.

If transcoding is required between Cisco CallManager clusters, you must configure the H.323 intercluster trunk with an MTP resource.

Remember !!! Outbound intercluster calls will use an MTP/transcoding resource from the Cisco CallManager from which the call originates.
