I have a CM3.1(2c) with an H323 PSTN gateway (2610 router with
NM-HDV-E1 voice card). Everything works fine except with International calls. In some countries we can call just fine, but in some others we get a "disconnected" tone. I have done "debug isdn q931" on a failed called, and looks like that:
I get this "Recovery on timer expiry" and I don't know if its a problem on my side or the PSTN side. Also, before installing the H323 gateway, we had a DE-30+ PCI PRI selsius card, which worked great for so long with no problems.
The international gateway is not sure if there are more digits to follow after the intial setup message, so it accepts the setup but waits an interdigit timeout period before attempting to send the call to the remote destination network. At the same time, the router waits the default T310 period of 10 seconds before it decides the call is not progressing and it clears the call with a 'recovery on timer expiry' clearing code.
What you need to do is to tell the international gateway the called number in the setup message has no more digits to follow - use the following D channel command:
interface serial 1/0:15
This will set the sending complete field in the intial Q931 setup message so the PSTN gateway will accept the call and process it immediately.
The switch is responding to the SETUP with a SETUP ACK, which suggests that for some reason it's expecting more digits from the GW, so it has entered an "overlap sending" state, where additional digits are now expected. No more digits come, so it clears the call. This suggests perhaps a dialing plan issue - be sure that the digits you are sending match what's expected by the switch, there may be digit deletion/insertion, etc required, or a change in provisioning of the ISDN line to fix this. Else it's possible the number is just being dialed incorrectly - presumably you've tried other international phone numbers. If the switch thought it could have routed the call on the initial digits sent, it would have attemped to do so, and not sent the SETUP ACK.

The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
