problems with phone registration

Hello:

I am trying to registration my phone 7960 in one Call Manager. The ip information is statically configured and I don't use vlans.

The phone goes for this steps:

- configuring ip

- configuring cm list

- opening "the cm's ip"

Is in this moment when the phone tries to download de tftp files?

- defaulting cm to tftp server.

When the phone is here doesn't more happens. I have a status message: tftp timeout

What can I try?

TFTP timeout

TFTP server did not respond.

?Network is busy?The errors should resolve themselves when the network load reduces.

?No network connectivity between the TFTP server and the phone?Verify the network connections.

?TFTP server is down?Check configuration of TFTP server.

Use Ethereal to see what exactly your phone is doing.

Hello:

I have used the ethereal and I can see that the files OS79XX and the devicename.cnf.xml are marked as malformed packet.

the phone don't ask for th XMLDefault.cnf.xml

after that there is a tcp connection to the call manager, from ports 50659-50662 to 2000.

what is the utility of this ports?

Check the status message on the phone.

settings->status on the 7960 phone.

Also verify if you can ping the phone ip address from the callmanager.
