Procedure to upgrade from 2.4.6 to 3.1

I need to find a procedure to upgrade from 2.4.6 to 3.1. I need to know how to migrate the database from one version to the next.

Here's the chapter in the 3.1 install guide that talks about upgrading from 2.x to 3.x:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_unity/unity31/inst/inst31/inst_030.htm

You can also check out the FullDBImport/Export tools page (whish is what you use to do the above migration) on www.CiscoUnityTools.com - the help file has some more info on how this works.

Ok, 2.4.6 runs exchange 5.5. So when I load 3.1 do I load it back with exchange 5.5 and somehow upgrade to exchange 2000? Or can I load exchange 2000 from the start and restore messages taken from exchange 5.5?

yes, you can change the back end to 2000 here - the FullDBImport/Export wont care - it'll restore users to SQL and then the SQLSyncServer will create them in the directory or bind to them if the user is found by Directory ID, RDN or Mail Alias. It wont matter if the back end is 5.5 or 2000.

to get your messages over you'll want to use ExMerge from Microsoft - use the version of the Exchange 2000 CD - it works with both 55 and 2000 and can shuttle messages between versions for you.
