Protocol application invalid on ip phone

Hi ,

I am facing an issue wherein one ip phone cisco 7940 is getting "protocol application invalid" message on powering up. I am not able to enter anything from the phone buttons.

Kindly help on this.

Please read the following section of the article about resetting the IP phone back to Factory Defaults. It fixed the problem for me.
