QoS & application priority question

Hi friends,

I have a question for you.

I work with an application that runn over telnet protocol. I have a link with 2 Mb BW, and I need that this application only uses a 50% of 2 MB=1MB, but I have others application that are prioritaries over this telnet application, so, if others application need to use more BW that 1 MB, can use without problems. How can Implement it? Which QoS feature can I use?

Regards and Thank you very much

Re: QoS & application priority question

You would need to configure Low Latency Queueing (LLQ) where you assign classes based on classified traffic. For example assume you want to assign 20% of traffic for voice, 2% for voice control traffic, 50 % for your application:

access-list 101 permit tcp eq

class-map voip

match ip dscp EF

class-map match-any voice_control

match ip dscp cs3

match ip dscp af31

class-map application

match ip access-group 101

policy-map LLQ

class voip

priority percent 20

class voip_control

bandwidth percent 2

class application

bandwidth percent 50

then you simply apply this policy to egress interface on the router:

interfaece serial 0/0

service-policy output LLQ

HTH, please rate all posts!

Re: QoS & application priority question

Hi friend,

One thing,

The "others" applications can use the BW that is reserved for the application that run over telnet protocol? The telnet application is less inmportant that rest of applications..How can I do?

Regards and thank you.
