QoS in multiple CME

Hi All;

there are lots of techniques and methods of QoS. if there are multiple locations each has one CME, what is best solution as far as QoS? which method is the best practice to have high quality of voice except adding more bandwidth?

Alex,

It will depend on the WAN type (MPLS, FrameRelay, PPP, etc), WAN bandwidth, and Equipement (especially switches: 3550,3560,4500,6500).

But basically you want to do the following:

classification and marking - mark your voice packets properly

queueing - Low Latency Queing to prioritize voice bandwidth over WAN

Policing and Shaping - depending on WAN technology you may need to do either ot both

Link Efficiency - depending on the WAN speed you may need fragmentation, compression

I would recommad starting by reading the QoS SRND:

As you can see there are a lot of QoS toolsets and depending on your environment you may need to use all or some of them.
