we are useing a CAT6509 with Native-IOS 12.1(13)E6 running to police our customers to a defined bandwidth.
We would like to police different hosts, where every host should not get more than 512kbps, which is not the challenge at all. Our problem now is, that all hosts together (a subnet, which includes all these hosts) should be policed to 2Mbps. Are there any existing solutions on this issue?
You are probably using microflow policing for the 512Kbps, which remember, is only per flow, they have a new feature on the Sup3's which does masking, so instead of a user getting 512kbps per flow, you can configure it so no matter how many flows the user has open he or she can only use 512k.
You should use an aggregate policer also. So your microflow limits the 512k per person, and your aggregate policer will limit the total group to 2Mbps.
The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
