QoS Trust on cat 6000/6500

I have 6000/6500's running CatOS 7.2.2 with a mixture of 6148 and 6348 (10/100)modules connected to Cisco IP phones. I am setting up the trust boundries on the cards. I understand that the modules are limited to trusting COS only and that the 6348 requires an additional ACL. My question is can I set it up to trust only Cisco IP Phones using the trust device command. Is this command in addition to the trust-cos command or in lieu of? What about the required ACL? Is it even supported with the modules I mention?

Appreciate any help and/or sample command syntax you can provide.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: QoS Trust on cat 6000/6500

You might already have found an answer to it.

6148 being a GBIC card should have trust-dscp support to allow you to trust the dscp value on incoming packets to those ports. 6348 can only support trust-cos and you need an ACL to make that work.

6348:-

-----

set port qos 4/1-10 vlan-based

set port qos 4/1-10 trust trust-cos

set qos acl phones trust-cos ip any any

commit qos acl phones

set qos acl map phones 61

6148:-

-----

set port qos 3/1 trust trust-dscp

The trusting of cisco ip phone is definitely available with 6348 blades, and can be configured with the command below, in addition to trust-cos.

set port qos 4/1 trust-device ciscoipphone

I am not sure about 6148 if a trust cisco ip phone is available or not.

Hope that helps.
