Quality of voice over Ethernet

Hi,

I am replacing scenario A with scenario B.

Scenario A:

LAN 1---- E0/Router R1/S0----WAN/Frame Relay------S0/Router R2/E0-----LAN 2

On both routers R1 and R2, I have implemented FR traffic shapping on the serial interfaces S0 to ensure voice quality and it is working fine.

Scenario B:

LAN 1---- E0/Router R1/E1----E0/NTU----WAN(64K)-----NTU/E0---E!/Router R2/E0-----LAN 2

I need to know if it is feasible to apply quality of voice on the ethernet interfaces E1 of routers R1 and R2, and what are the supported commands?

Thanks

Re: Quality of voice over Ethernet

Yes, this is ofcourse a feasible solution. You could apply RSVP on both of your routers for QoS purpose. The RSVP commands can be used for rate limiting, reserving bandwidth and so on. More on this can be found at:

RSVP-ATM QoS Interworking

You could even check out the UniverCD documents on www.cisco.com for the latest IOS features relating to QoS on ethernet.
