Just to be clear, were not supposed to be just answering your test questions for folks out here the guys that make and administer these test get kinda annoyed when we do that. I can give you hints, but that's about it.
>You are installing 40 port unity system in dual switch environment you can assign ports >in following manner
>a.25 ip ports 15 analog ports >b.40 ip ports & 40 analog ports >c.40 ip ports & 15 analog ports >d.25 analog ports & 25 ip ports
[JL] You are licensed on the security key for a total number of ports you can have active, IP or analog or whatever the total here is 40 so which one of the answers adds up to 40? Not too tough
>Which protocol is required for Exchange Internet Mail Service functionality when > networking Unity servers?
>a. HTTP >b. MAPI >c. POP3 >d. TCP/IP
[JL] This is one of the really poorly worded questions on the test (there are 3 or 4 pretty squishy ones). My main problem with this question is you dont need the IMS to do digital networking at all! They needed to more narrowly define the question here. They really mean networking two Unity servers not in the same Exchange network THEN you need SMTP capabilities provided by the IMS. You can reason this one out. You know Exchange doesnt use HTTP. POP3 is not used by Unit at all (we use MAPI to get your messages out of your message store, not POP3 or IMAP). MAPI is used to gain access to a message store, it has nothing whatsoever to do with networking two remote Unity servers together (i.e. you cant log into the mailbox of a subscriber in a remote Exchange box or even an Exchange box out of your local site). That narrows the field down quite a bit
>All Dialogic boards may be dynamically configured using Dialogic Configuration ?Manager.
>a. True >b. False
[JL] This one is pretty easy what is the name of the application in the Dialogic program group that you use to configure the Dialogic cards? This is right in the installation guide multiple times browse through it, youll find it.
>The directory structure of Exchange uses the following protocol.
>a. LDAP >b. X.500 >c. X.400 >d. SMTP
[JL] Basic Exchange 5.5 stuff what protocol do you have to go in and have it change the port its using when you are running with Active Directory and Exchange 5.5 because they compete? Hint, by default its set to 389 I strongly suggest you get hold of a good Exchange 5.5 book such as Barry Gerbers book (his Ex2K book isnt bad either both are very readable and well laid out). You really should know this if you out installing Unitys in the world.
>In a dual-switch integration you must change a Registry setting to define the extensions > for each switch.
>a. True >b. False
[JL] The installation guide has a nice section on installing dual switch configurations read through it, you'll get your answer.
The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
