Questions about CCM 4.1 and Unity 4.0 backups and 3rd parties

I am trying to find the best practice for backing up my 2 CCM's and one unity server, off box. Looking at the documentation it seems i run the backup locally or save to another server then use the 3rd party backup. I was wondering if anyone had any info or maybe share how you handled this? Thank you.

For CCM use BARS.

You can use a Network Directory, Local Directory, or Tape Device.

For Unity use Veritas Backup Exec or Dirt (an application under Tools Depot)

The Cisco recommendation for backing-up Unity server Veritas Backup Exec, because with with this application you can store Windows info, SQl, Unity and Exchange information.
