"Line in Use" 7960 - but it's not, really

We have a 7960 that displays 'line in use' - we have confirmed that the device with which it's sharing this line is not using it. In fact this line appears on two phones which are sitting next to eachother.

What else could be causing this?

Thanks,

Erik.

You could try removing the phone through CCM admin and see if the display stays the same on the second phone. Then re-add the phone and see where you stand.

Hope this helps....

Thanks - this is basically what we did after noticing if one phone was unplugged then the line free'd up. It must have been that device though because afterward we assigned the same shared line to a new phone and no problem. Much appreciated!
