"Voicemail box is in use"

I have a Cisco IP phone 7965. Every time I try to access the voicemail box, it says "This voicemail box is in use." What can I do?

You need to explain what you use for call control and what you use for voicemail to get any assistance.

If you're an end user, you need to get in touch with your local IT department for assistance.

If you are using CUE, can you try the following to unlock the account:

voicemail mailbox unlock telephonenumber XXX

or 

voicemail mailbox unlock owner XXXXXXX
