"web/global.asa did not fire" - Common problem?

I just installed Unity 3.1(5) & when I tried to access SAWeb locally I get this error message:

"Missing live session flag.

For some reason, web/global.asa did not fire.

Check that this file is present.

Cannot continue."

The file is present & I can access SAWeb remotely.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: "web/global.asa did not fire" - Common problem?

Any chance you have a non-DNS compliant character in the Unity server name? Microsoft changed some functionality in IE a while back.

Check out this defect:

Hope that helps,

Thanks Keith, that was it. I have an underscore in the name of the server. Now I guess I will begin the fun task of wiping out & rebuilding my server with a new name.

Yeah, not too fun.

Moving forward the setup for Unity will check to make sure that the server name is DNS compliant for what it’s worth…
