R2 Signaling

Hi,

I am deploying a public voice network over IP and I would like to know if R2 signaling is reliable enough to provide public telephony services.

My basic figure of the network is:

National PSTN ---- PBX ----- AS5300 ----- 2600 ---- International PSTN (Voip Cloud)

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Milton

R2 works fine, the problem is that there are so many flavors of R2 that it can be difficult to match the local PSTN or PBX that you are connecting to. If you have a choice, go with PRI, if not make sure that you know the exact flavor of R2 that is being used and what that means in gateway configuration terms.

R2 theory:

on the 5300:
