I recently installed Unity and am now configuring custom Call Handlers. When I connect to the admin page http://<servername>/saweb and goto Call Handler, and select my new Call Handler the record button is greyed out. If I connect directly to the Unity Server the record button is active but I have no sound card or mic on the server.

How can I record the greetings ?

Is there a way to be able to use a phone, if so how ?

I've searched CCO and haven't found any answers.

Thanks

Greg

yeah, you can configure TRAP (telephone record and playback) to work with the media master control there. Just click the down arrow on the media master control and select "options". Enter the telephone number of the phone near you and the server name or IP address of the Unity server. Then select the phone as your record/playback device and you should be good to go. It'll ring your phone and make a connection when you want to playback/record.
As for why the media master control is disabled off the Unity box... any chance you have ActiveX control disabled in your IE settings on that box?

I tried using 2 different computers Internet Explorer browsers and the record button is greyed on both PC's I tried. The only one the button is red on is the Unity Server.
If I setup a phone extension and server under options, will Unity ring that phone then prompt me to record a greeting ?
Thanks for the quick reply

yeah, that's the idea for the TRAP stuff. It'll keep the connection open for a while so you can tool around and record several greetings and voice names and hang up when you're done.
Not sure what's up with the media master controls off box... have them all gray like that usually means an IE configuration issue with the ActiveX controls or the like.

I do have same issues: When I put the phone (extention)as record playbeck devices and place ip address of call manager (gives message: unknown problems are preventing the connection to server) or unity server (specified phone number is busy) so both way, it does not response to the phone.
