recovering an updated 4.03 installation

Hello,

I want to restore a Unity 4.03 installation which was updated from 3.1.5. Do I have to install 3.1.5 first and then update to 4.0.3 or can I install 4.0.3, install the license with dongle and then play back the backup?

The problem I see is the changed licensing model.

4.X does not require a dongle -- just that FlexLM license file. You need to restore to the version of code which you backed up. So if you backed up at 3.1(5) that is where you would need to restore to.

This means that after I updated from 3.1.5 to 4.0.3 I do not use the dongle any more?
