What remote office VoIP options are available today? We have applications that need remote people at home offices. Looking at the 827 series DSL router, is there a possibility of VPNing into the corporate network [dynamic IP on the router's WAN DSL interface] (which has Call Managers) and locating a remote IP phone? Or with the 827-4V router, is this possible with standard phones?
Obviously, QOS could not be gaurunteed over and ISP's DSL connection, although we are willing to give it a try, especially using G.729a.
The 827 with the analog voice ports should be a perfect home office solution. For a home office (single line) you shouldnt have to implement QoS. Your DSL service provider shouldnt have any problem with a 56k voice stream and some data. Setup IPSec on it and youre all set.
