You can change the alias in Exchange without hurting the Unity account at all. We don't use the Alias as the reference to the user since it's not guranteed to be unique, even within the same domain. for AD/Ex2K we use the DirectoryID (GUID looking thing) and for Exchange 5.5 we use the ObjectID (LDAP looking thing). These never change regardless of what you do to the account so you can change the display name, alias all that good stuff and Unity wont care. We'll show the changes in the SA (i.e. you'll see the new alias in the SA pages)... it may take a few minutes for the monitor to pick up the change in the directory and drag it in but it'll get there.
