Replacing SATA mirrored drive

Could someone point me to any information on the correct procedure to replace a SATA hard drive that is in a raid 1 (mirrored) configuration? I am going to be replacing a fully functional drive in the secondary bay in an MCS-7825-IPC1 server. Do I need to "break" the mirror first or can I just stick a blank drive in the bay and boot the server up as is? Thanks!

Re: Replacing SATA mirrored drive

You can just slide the drive in. It mirrors by itself. You can check the progress in the HP array configuration utility.

Make sure that the kind of drive is the same as the one in bay 0.

The sticker that came from the mnf on the chasis clearly states you can insert a drive with the unit powered on. Where a SCSI drive allows to you just slide the drive in any time, and check Event Viewer, regeneration should take about 45 minutes or so.
