Reset ip phone to Factory default from remote???

Is there any way we can reset 7960/7940 ip phones to factory default? I know we can do this from the phone itself as explained here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_tech_note09186a00800941bb.shtml

Or is there any way to point the remote phone to a different tftp server ip address?

Thanks a lot.

You can change the TFTP server from the settings page:

Press settings

dial **#, then scroll down to tftp

hit edit, change the address and save.

If you just want to clear IP settings etc, there is also an 'erase config' option (round about option 32 in the list I think).

Otherwise the only factory reset I know of requires a console cable..

Thats correct. But I have a phone in the remote location and need to reset it to the factory defaults. Is there any way we can do this without physical access to the phone?

Thanks
