Hi, I'm using call restriction by asigning ip phones to a certain partition and calling-search-space. I'm not able to make certain calls from my restricted phone but I can easily move to a non-restricted phone and call with no problem.
Is there a way to restrict in a user basis where I had to use my own personal code no matter from the phone I am calling? Will Cisco add this in the future?
Using Cisco CallManager 3.1 and CRA2.2 which are both available for upgrade in the Software Center, you can use a new feature called Extension Mobility.
The basic idea is that you have a phone with no rights to call outside sitting at a desk (or wherever). A user can sit at the phone, and by pressing the Services button, they can "login" to the phone using their user id and PIN. Once they do this, the phone quickly resets and has their own extension, and they will have their own normal Calling Search Space.
When finished, the user can log out of the phone, or the administrator can enforce a global "maximum login time."
I know that there are many customers interested in personalized or department based account codes or billing codes but I don't know of any solution for this right now. You might be able to use an IVR system that is tied into a RADIUS server or something like that but I have not done this so I don't know exactly how to implement it.
