I have a customer who for all the right reasons has purchased Unity UM 2.46 way back. Moreso, they had an existing Corporate Exchange Server that they used (installed the Unity server in the same Exchange site as their Corporate Exchange Server).

All has been running well.

Now, for xyz reason, wants to revoke/remove to some subscribers their access to UM in Microsoft Outlook Client while these same subscribers still continue to use Outlook for their regular e-mail.

How can this be accomplished in Unty? It is not obvious to me to simply turn off UM functionality for a Subscriber while others contine to use it.

TIA

There is no way to do this without a second Exchange mailbox. What you need to do is delete the user in Unity, add a new mailbox in Exchange and re-import that new mailbox into Unity for the user. You can hide the mailbox from the GAL in Exchange so the customer does not see 2 mailboxes.

Also, if you need to do this for a large number of folks it might be worth your time to check out the Move Subscriber Info tool on the 2.x page on AnswerMonkey.net. This will let you move your subscriber information from their corporate account to the new, hidden email account for voice mail only. It'll do it in one shot and will save their greetings, voice names, notification rules etc...
