1. Can you assign the same route pattern to different partitions and then assign the different partitions to various calling search space or do you assign only a single route pattern to one partition and then assign the partition to multiple calling search space.

2. Can you configure the call forward with a different calling search space than the calling search space for the directory number so that normal calls can reach all the company and call forward a limited by a different calling search space with restrictions such as time day, limited number range.

Thanks

Bill

1. You may do both.

Can you assign the same route pattern to different partitions and then assign the different partitions to various calling search space

If you have a centralized cm deployment, you will have a HQ and remote sites hanging off it. HQ and remote sites will have their own gateway. To route calls locally through each site's voice gateway, you may use multiple 9.@ partitions, each in their own partitions say HQ, R1, R2 R3 etc (these are the partition names). You will need a separate CSS for each site, so that you can control which gateway you will use to route the call.

do you assign only a single route pattern to one partition and then assign the partition to multiple calling search space

For ex: you have a route pattern 9.@ with a route filter (SERVICE=911) which is used to make 911 emergency calls. Let this be in partition P1.

You may have employee phones and you may have lobby phones. Employee phones will have a calling search space which has access to local, long distance as well as 911 calls (CSS1). Lobby phones will have a calling search space which has access only to 911 calls and employee phones. (CSS2)

You will need to include partition P1 in CSS1 and CSS2 so that both set of phones will have access to 911.

With this example, i hope i made it clear that you may have a situation where a route pattern is assigned to a partition and may be used in different CSS's.

2. CFWD can be configured with a different CSS so that you can restrict what patterns are accessible. This can be used to limit people from forwarding their office calls to a long distance number at your company's cost.
