route pattern

I want to block long distance call. What I did is :

1. Create a route filter: area code exist

2. Create a route pattern :9.@ with enabling the block this pattern.

This works. MY question here is : if 1800 and 1900 also blocked by this configuration?

Re: route pattern

Yes, they would be - you would be blocking anything containing an area code, which under the NANP would block everything except 7-digit local calls and international calls.

If you want to then permit 1-800 calls, create another route pattern 9.@ with a route filter of AREA-CODE equal to 800, route this pattern. It will be a more specific match than the AREA-CODE EXISTS pattern and allow the call.
