Routing based on calling party prefix

Any ideas on how i could setup the call manager so that when customer calls a specific number it will forward to a different employee based on the customers prefix?

You might need IPCC (or IPCC express) to do that.

I'm thinking of another way, but I have not tested it, so this is just an assumption. You must use h323 gateway for this. MGCP gateway won't work.

Map inbound pots dial-peer to your desired destination. For example customer at 12345 dials 3333. You would like to ring phone at ext. 5555.

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /3333/ /5555/

voice translation-profile Test

translate called 1

dial-peer voice 1 pots

incoming called-number 12345

translation-profile incoming Test

direct-inward-dial

dial-peer voice 2 voip

destination-pattern 5555

session target ipv4:1.1.1.1

Again, this is not tested and might have errors, but you get the idea...

Depending on the nature of your environment and roles of the people involved, you could use IPMA to achieve this behavior.

IPMA comes with some extra baggage that may be unattractive, but it is an option.
