Saved Messages not being played

Client has a Unity 3.1.5 implementation. WHen checking old messages the first message played is March 27 going forward to April. There are older unread messages than that from February and January, however these do not get played. It will play them if they are marked as unread. Is there a subscriber setting that prevents checking saved messages older than a specific date? I couldn't find anything in subscriber or COS settings

No, there's no setting like this - are you sure those older messages are tagged as voice mail?
