Setup SRST to access Voice mail when WAN link is down

I have 2 CCM's in Chicago and remote sites in S.F, Toronto, and Boston. Each office has their own Cisco Unity server along with a Catalyst 4224 GW. I'm trying to find the best way so each office can access VM when the WAN link goes down. We currently are using the 4224's as a backup in case the link goes down so the users can still use their phones, but VM is very important and I want them to be able to access their messages and for clients to be able to leave messages. Thanks for you time!

Re: Setup SRST to access Voice mail when WAN link is down

At this time the Unity TSP does not support SRST. SRST support is in the early stages of planning (i.e. none of the code work has started) but there isn't a target date yet.

At Cisco, customers dictate the priority given to each new feature. If this is important to you organization you should contact your account team and work through those channels.

Hope this helps,

Keith

Are there any alternatives/bypass options that can be used/applied? We are just using voice messaging and not unified messaging, does that make a difference?

There really isn't much you can do here. The Skinny end points (phones and Unity) need to give the router information about themselves such as their DN. Since the TSP doesn't do that it won't work.

Re: Setup SRST to access Voice mail when WAN link is down

I was reading some info on the cisco website and I found the following information. Is this possible?

That looks like this would be applicable when the voice mail system is doing an analog DTMF integration. Unity won't be doing that type of integration when it is connected to CCM.
