Shared Line question

Is there any way to disable the screen pop on one of the devices sharing a line?

For example:

User A has Line 1 configured as 1234

User B has Line 2 configured as 1234

Call comes into 1234 and the LCD shows up with 'Answer' only on User A.

If B chooses to answer, they would need to press the button on Line 2.

you can set the 'ring settings' of a phone to be different than a phone sharing the same line.

you can set the ring setting to Ring, Flash, Disable, Ring Once or System Policy.

this setting can be set for Ring Active and Ring Idle. this is set on the phones configuration page under the 'LineSettingsForThisDevice' section.

Disabling the ring does not disable the flash on the LCD. We are running 4.1(3)sr3b.

We resolved it another way, under Service Paramaters > Cisco Call Manager > Advanced > Always Use Prime Line = True.

This is set to False by default. Now the user can pick up Line 1 even if a flash event is displaying the answer softkey for line 2 or 3, etc .

So how do you disable the call info on the LCD of the phone? If you have 14 line appearances on a receptionist's 7914 to show the status of the user's phones, surely there is a way to prevent the 7914 calls from popping up on the 7960 display, right?

I've tried the always use prime line and disable the ring on the line settings, but doesn't prevent it.

Thanks,

Kevin
