Showing more than 500 users in general search

Hi,

when I go to Global Direcoty in CCM 3.3(4) and try to list all users I receive a message:

"Warning! Search too general: results truncated.

Greater than 500 records matched, but only the first 500 will be displayed.

Please refine your search.

500 matching record(s)"

Is there any chance to show all users in general search ?

Re: Showing more than 500 users in general search

from Callmanager System Guide:

To limit the search time for accessing users in the corporate directory and to reduce overhead for Cisco CallManager, set two enterprise parameters. The parameters apply to the user search from the Cisco CallManager User window and from the Cisco IP Phone directories button.

•Enable All User Search—This parameter specifies True by default. The False setting requires that a user search the corporate directory by entering search criteria (e.g., first name, last name, DN).

•User Search Limit—By default, this parameter specifies 64 search results at a time (the range is 1 to 64 search results). This parameter remains invalid if the Enable All User Search parameter is set to False and no search criteria is set.

Searches are limited to 64 results and are random. If the directory contains more than 64 records, a message displays stating that the search exceeded the search limit and the user must specify more specific search criteria.

Re: Showing more than 500 users in general search

Hi mehmet,

thanks a lot on the response. This is ok for the searching corporate directory via the IP phone. I already set this. My question is connected to searching users in global directory through ccmadmin page.

When I did all user search through a ccmadmin page User>global directory and in the usersearch field pu the blank I receive a Warning message.

My customer would like to see full number of users. Is this possible ?

That behaviour is documented in: CSCee62485

In my lab running 4.13sr2 got same message.

Let me ask someone else here at Cisco if this is WAD or we can change something.

I believe that was done in order to avoid CPU consumption during the search.

Re: Showing more than 500 users in general search

Hi,

I spoke with several guys from Cisco and got the answer:

no way that I can see, looks like a tag was added through AXL to specify a large max search results.

Unfortenetly, it seems that there is no possibility to do that :-(.

That is correct:

Did you try the workaround from Wes?

Yeap and it works fine. But, according to Wes, unsupported :-)
