Silly question for SRST!!??

Hi,

We have TI PRI 3620 (H.323) at branch office. We are going to implement SRST in case WAN down.

Can I use SAME TI PRI on 3620 for SRST to make call to PSTN if WAN down?

OR

DO we need another TI PRI or FXO for SRST??

The reason I ask, because our client said that we need to buy HDA card (8 FXO in it) to make SRST work. In other words, we cannot use the existing T1 PRI. I just got confused.

I thought we can use T1 PRI configure as H323 that register to CCM, at the mean time, we can aslo use as SRST to make call to PSTN if WAN down.

Thanks for help!!!

Re: Silly question for SRST!!??

The PRI is for local PSTN access (or long distance). You will use the same PRI regaurdless if the WAN us up or down. You just have to configure SRST properly on the gateway.

Thanks your reply!! You clear up my confusion.

Too bad that they bought HDA for SRST already. What a waste!!!
