SimClient+ and Auto-Registration

We've been using SimClient+ since version v4.x to generate load (it's a load simulator put out by Cisco for use in the SDL, etc). Currently we can register SimClient+ devices to our CCM31 cluster, but not our CCM32 or CCM33 clusters. We have auto-registration enabled on each machine in each cluster, the auto-reg DNs are set up properly as are the partitions, etc. We currently have SimClient+ v5.1 and v6.1 installed, and the devices won't register no matter what CM load we select, etc.

Any insight, first places to look, etc? Thanks!

Re: SimClient+ and Auto-Registration

Hello Matthew,

For SimClients to register with CM 3.2 or CM 3.3, you need to make sure that the "Device Name Validation Enabled" is set to "False" in your Cisco Database Layer Monitor Service Parameter.

Hope it helps.

Re: SimClient+ and Auto-Registration

Thanks! That fixed it. For those keeping score at home, this is an 'Advanced' setting parameter; it's not visibile on the normal 'Service Parameters' > 'Database Layer Monitor' console.

I've never heard of this Utility.. sounds like a great idea! Where can I obtain it?
