Could you please to help me to find out if I can use two or several 7940/7960 WITHOUT any SIP-proxy server?

Configure each Cisco7940/7960 SIP IP Phone to point to the other Cisco7940/7960 SIP IP Phone for the line_x proxy address settings. Also, make sure the proxy registeration is disabled. The phone configuration can be performed manually or by downloading the phone specific configuration files via tftp.

Hello,

I was wondering if you had any luck with getting this configuration to work? I have two 7960 phones running 4.2 and when configured for a point-to-point call as stated above, I get an immediate busy signal. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks

todd

Check the following thread, I covered the same issue here:

Capturing "debug sip-messages" from the phone can be a very helpful troubleshooting tool. Be sure to enable telnet access to the phone first.

Regards,
