SRST Design Question

A customer of mine are asking for a separate router to terminate their PRIs from their normal data/WAN routers. My question is:

Does SRST need to be running on the WAN router, or can it run on either router?

To be more specific, Can the router providing SRST be any router on the LAN? Or, does it have to be the router that is the default gateway to the phone, i.e., to the WAN..

Re: SRST Design Question

With CM 3.3, you can specify what IP the phone will use for SRST, so it can be any router.

The PSTN connection does not necessarily have to be on the SRST router, you can setup H.323 dial-peers to send the calls to another router with a PSTN connection.
